Prior to the Apostille of Power of Attorney from Ministry of external Affairs (MEA), New Delhi the Power of Attorney must be attested from the Chambers of Commerce in India. It is not mandatory to attest the Power of Attorney from the respective State’s Chambers of Commerce. The Power of Attorney could be attested from any Chambers of Commerce across the India prior to Apostille. The Power of Attorney generally attested from the concerned Chambers of Commerce from where the concerned Company is the Member and registered with. It is also important that the Power of Attorney must be attested from Notary before Apostille from Ministry of External Affairs, (MEA). 

Please be informed that some HCC Countries further require the Embassy Legalization of the Power of Attorney after the Apostille of the Power of Attorney from Ministry of external Affairs (MEA), New Delhi. In this case, firstly the Power of Attorney will be attested from the Chambers of Commerce, after that the Power of Attorney will be Apostilled from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi and finally the Power of Attorney will be legalized by the concerned country’s Embassy or Consulate present in India. 

The time frame to complete the Apostille of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)  Certificate Apostille from Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), New Delhi could be completed within three working days. But the legalization of the Power of Attorney from the Embassy or Consulate could take some more time and it depends on the concerned Embassy’s or Consulate’s internal policy.
